When Sylvia of Wol met Verve dyed me this beautiful speckled yarn i knew it had to be a shawl in half brioche but in the easy way I learned as a child, the k1 below technique. 

Dutchies has an asymmetrical shape and is worked flat from the right tip to the left edge. The drops panel starts at the widest point of the shawl near the end. The pattern is fully written with stitch count and is also charted.

Yarn 

4 skeins Wol met Verve, Vigorous DK (100% SW merino, 115 gr-252yds/230m). 
Sample yardage 981yds/897m in color Roadmap.
Or any DK/Worsted weight yarn: approx. 897-1006yds (820-920m).

Materials 

24” (minimum 60 cm) circular or straight needles. 
US 6 (4 mm). 
US 8 (5 mm). 
Stitch marker, tapestry needle.

Gauge - blocked 4" (10 cm)

Half brioche pattern, 18 stitches x 32 rows. 
Gauge is not crucial at all, but will affect final size and yardage.

Finished dimensions 

Approx. 88.6” (225 cm) wingspan along top edge x 26.4“ (67 cm) width.

Different sizes and fits can also be achieved by altering yarn weight and/or needle size(s).
